IRS Form 4506-C is the successor to 4506-T. Form 4506-T was the taxpayer’s request to obtain a copy of their Tax Transcripts from the IRS (or have the transcripts forwarded to a third party, such as a mortgage lender). Form 4506-T was retired as of April 30, 2021. 

The IRS has a service called Income Verification Express Service (IVES). As of May 1, 2021 the taxpayer must use Form 4506-C to authorize IVES subscribers to access transcripts electronically (and much faster — we’re talking days faster).
